• U.S. alternate for the 2004 U-19 World Championship
in November
• Competed at a U.S. under-19 national team camp in
March 2004
• Played for the U19s at the Philips Lighting U-19
• Women's Soccer Invitational in April 2004 against
teams from Holland, China and Japan
• Played for the U.S. at the CONCACAF Qualifying
Tournament May 28-June 6 in Ottawa, Canada
• Member of the U17 and U14 national team pools.
• Attended U21 national team invitational in Alabama

AS A SENIOR IN 2007:
• Started and played every minute of every game.
• Named to Soccer Buzz Elite National Team of the Week
• Named to second team in WCC league
• Was one of three defenders up for Defender of the
year in WCC league
AS A JUNIOR IN 2006:
• Transfer from Cal started 16 of the 18 matches she
saw action in this season
• Named to Notre Dame adidas Classic All-Tournament
team for her solid performance at midfield
• Named to Soccer Buzz Elite National Team of the Week
• Santa Clara adidas Classic All-Tournament team for
her Opening Weekend performance.
AS A SOPHOMORE AT CAL IN 2005:
• Named All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention for second year
in a row
• Started 20 of the 22 matches in which she appeared
• Notched a goal and three assists
AS A FRESHMAN AT CAL IN 2004:
• Earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors
• Named to the Soccer Buzz All-Freshman West squad

• Overall during her prep career, posted 88 goals and
61 assists at Notre Dame
• Recognized as the San Jose Mercury News' freshman,
sophomore and junior of the year
• As a senior, the San Jose Mercury News named her its
Player of the Year.

PERSONAL
• Full name is Chioma Igwe
• Parents are Tony and Lisa Igwe ... her father played
soccer for the Nigerian national team following his career at the University of San Francisco (1975-79), where he was a member of two national championship teams
• Older brother, Kelechi, played for Santa Clara and
graduated in 2006
• Younger brother, Amaechi played a year at Santa
Clara as well and now plays for the New England Revolution and is part of the U.S. U-20 National Team.
